Dr. Lauwers received his MD from the University of Paris, France. He completed a Surgical Pathology Residency at Lenox Hill Hospital, New York, NY and a Fellowship in Oncologic Pathology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, where he also served as Chief Fellow. Following his Fellowship, Dr. Lauwers was in the Division of Anatomic Pathology, Department of Pathology at the University of Florida. From 2000 to 2016, Dr. Lauwers was in the Department of Pathology at Harvard Medical School and also served as Director, Gastrointestinal Pathology Service and Vice Chair, Department of Pathology at Massachusetts General Hospital.

He most recently has been a Professor in the Department of Pathology at the University of California San Francisco. He is currently adjunct Professor of Pathology at Pusan National University, School of Medicine, Pusan, Korea and Clinical Professor at the School of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, at the University of Western Australia, in Perth. Dr. Lauwers has published over 350 peer-reviewed articles, editorials, reviews, and book chapters, and is coauthor of several textbooks, including the 5th edition of Morson and Dawson's Gastrointestinal Pathology and Advances in Surgical Pathology: Gastric Cancer.

Dr. Lauwers serves on the editorial boards of several journals, he is Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the Archives of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, and he contributed to the WHO Classification of Tumours of the Digestive System (2010). Dr. Lauwers’ areas of clinical focus include luminal malignancies of the gut (particularly esophageal and gastric adenocarcinoma) and hepatocellular carcinoma.

Dr. Ashraf Khan is an accomplished medical professional specializing in pathology. He currently serves as the Chair of Pathology at the University of Massachusetts Medical School-Baystate and Baystate Health in Springfield, MA. Dr. Ansari has numerous publications in the field of Histopathology and Dermatopathology, including the largest series of Eccrine Porocarcinoma published in the American Journal of Surgical Pathology. He received his training at the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford; and St. Thomas’ Hospital / St.John’s Institute of dermatology, London. Dr Ansari is an International Speaker, and has written several journal articles and book chapters.

Dr. Aslam received his MBBS in Pakistan 1995, and was interested in pathology from the beginning of his medical career.  After gaining experience in various pathology disciplines in Pakistan for 5 years, Dr. Aslam entered into higher specialist training to achieve his FRCPATH certification in UK. He joined East Lancashire NHS as a consultant in 2006, where he was actively involved in various management roles. Dr. Aslam joined North Wales NHS 2015 to lead the surgical pathology and digital pathology implementation project. Currently Dr. Aslam is working as a clinical director for North Wales diagnostic and specialist clinical services including radiology, pathology, audiology, medical physics and neurophysiology.

Dr. Aslam’s key interests include service improvement, teaching, innovation and management and teaching. Among clinical activities he had special interest in head and neck, skin, urology, and upper and lower GI pathology including reporting ESDs. He also performs autopsies for the HM Coroners and consent autopsies for hospital.  He is also interested in non-gynaecological cytology and routinely report them.

She is based in Canada and has multiple publications focused in the areas of Stem Cells, Familial Breast Cancer, Biomarkers and Radiation Therapy.

Currently serving as a Consultant Histo/Cytopathologist at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary since 2013, she specializes in Histopathology & Cytopathology with sub-specialties in Diagnostic Cytology, Head & Neck, Endocrine, and General Histopathology. Dr. Bashat's expertise lies in fine needle aspiration (FNA) and rapid on-site evaluation, coupled with a keen interest in education & training within the field.

A prolific researcher and member of numerous professional bodies like the Royal College of Pathologists and the Pathological Society of Great Britain & Ireland, Dr. Bashat has contributed significantly to advancing pathology. Her publications and presentations focus on topics such as the diagnostic accuracy of FNA cytology, breast pathology, lymphoma, and more. Alongside her clinical duties, she actively participates in teaching medical students, trainee pathologists, and biomedical science staff, demonstrating a commitment to the progression of pathology education and practice.

In 1995, he came to the United Kingdom to undertake a Diploma in Clinical Dermatology organised by the UMDS (King’s College London now) and subsequently became a research fellow at St John’s Institute of Dermatology, London. Dr Ben-Gashir has practiced clinical dermatology at St John's Institute of Dermatology, London, UK. He has been awarded a PhD from the University of London for his work on Childhood atopic dermatitis.

He has presented his work at national and international meetings and he won the prize for best presentation and best paper at the British Society for Paediatric Dermatology during the 81st annual meeting of the British Association of Dermatologists, Cardiff, July 2001. He has published a number of original papers and has reviewed articles in both national and international journals.

After completing his training in dermatology, he joined the UK training program in histopathology and became a fellow of the Royal College of Pathologists (FRCPath), London in 2012 and awarded Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Histopathology 2012. He started working as an acting-up consultant at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals including the dermatopathology department at the St John’s Institute of Dermatology and consultant pathologist in the UK before getting a permanent consultant Pathologist job in Qatar 2015 at the Hamad Medical Corporation, the sole health care provider in the state of Qatar. In January 2021, he moved back to the UK where started working in Bedford Hospital.

He completed his anatomic and clinical pathology residency at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) in Galveston, TX. Followed by a subspecialty fellowship in gastrointestinal, pancreatic, and hepatobiliary pathology at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center/Harvard Medical School in Boston, MA. He serves in leadership positions within the College of American Pathologists, Rodger C. Haggitt Gastrointestinal Pathology Society, Hans Popper Hepatopathology Society, Digital Pathology Association, and Intersociety Council on Pathology Information.

Dr. Booth has authored multiple book chapters and publications in the areas of gastrointestinal and liver pathology, patient-pathologist consultation, and pathology social media. His research interests include serrated polyps of the colon, gastroesophageal cancer, gastrointestinal post-transplant lymphoproliferative disorders, and artificial intelligence in digital pathology. He has led and participated in several projects aimed at increasing the pathology pipeline and medical student education in pathology. He is widely recognized through his activity on social media, which has garnered him national and international speaking invitations. Additionally, this activity has led to recognition outside the field of pathology from gastroenterology and hepatology.

His areas of interest include; carcinogenesis, EMT and mechanisms of invasion and metastasis. Along with morphological manifestations of clinically actionable mutations. Dr. Bracey has numerous publications in peer-reviewed literature.

Dr Bryson is a specialist gynaecological pathologist and core member of the West of Scotland Gynaecological Cancer MDT. His non-clinical interests include efficient systems, laboratory modernisation and workload measurement and digital pathology. He is the Scottish Pathology Network Lead for Digital Pathology.

In addition, he is an Honorary Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Glasgow and Honorary Senior Lecturer at University of St Andrews, contributing to the Innovate UK funded iCAIRD programme.

Most recently he has been the Program Medical Director and Pathologist in Chief/Professor of Pathology at University Health Network and University of Toronto, Head of Translational Pathology at the University of Oxford, and Head of Histopathology at Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals Trust. Prof Chetty’s area of interest in his specialty is mechanisms of tumourigenesis.

Since beginning her clinical practice in 2013, she has specialised in Surgical Pathology with sub-specialties in Head & Neck and Endocrine Thyroid & Parathyroid Pathology. Renowned for her expertise in neoplasms of the thyroid, salivary glands, and head & neck mucosal sites, Dr. Cipriani has contributed significantly to the field through numerous noteworthy publications. These have included research on vocal cord paralysis, glomus tumors, and a report on pleural metastasis from parotid secretory carcinoma to name a few. Her extensive research and dedicated clinical practice have established her as a leading expert and invaluable resource in her field.

Dr. Clapper returned to Columbia Missouri after his fellowship, where he worked primarily in a busy private practice but also for a time at the University of MO-Columbia as an adjunct

professor. For several years during this time, Dr. Clapper also wrote The Pathology Blawg, a

website about medicolegal issues and fraud in pathology and laboratory medicine, including

the now-defunct company Theranos. In his book Bad Blood, author John Carreyrou credits Dr. Clapper with providing him with the information that kickstarted his investigation of Theranos that eventually led to the company’s downfall.

While he truly enjoys looking at cases from nearly all pathology subspecialties, Dr. Clapper has a special interest in gynecologic, genitourinary and gastrointestinal specimens. Dr Cooper conceived, planned and activated the Botswana Rotation/Elective through the Botswana-UPenn Partnership. This program was initiated in October 2016 whereby Dr Cooper spends two months a year (October and April) at the University of Botswana teaching and signing out cases with the residents. His clinical experience comprises Jan 1982-Dec 1989/Dec 1992-Mar 1999: Routine Post Mortem and Surgical Pathology including use of Electron Microscopy, Immunofluorescence, Frozen Sections and Immunohistochemistry. May 1999-present: Routine general Surgical pathology sign out. Dr Cooper over 290 published manuscripts and over 100 published abstracts.

He is based in Derby, UK and has multiple peer review articles published in histopathology, forensic medicine, medical law and bioethics. Dr Dada has also held the Chair of Forensic Pathology at the Nelson R Mandela School of Medicine, University of KwaZulua Natal, South Africa.

He is based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania / United States. He completed his Bone and Soft Tissue Pathology Fellowship in the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Pittsburgh. Dr. Dantey has several publications in peer-reviewed literature.

His areas of interest include; Dermatopathology, GI, Breast, Gyn and Uropathology. Dr Dasgupta also has a keen interest in the application of Artificial Intelligence and Deep Learning to Pathology, with numerous recent publications.

His areas of interest are Pancreas, Liver and tubular gut. Prof. Deshpande’s research has focused on surgical pathology in the areas of gastrointestinal and connective tissue diseases. His contributions to the field of IgG4-related disease have been instrumental in establishing diagnostic criteria, as well as pioneering new treatments for this disease.

Prof. Deshpande has published over 100 peer-reviewed articles, editorials, reviews and book chapters and has been an invited speaker at major national and international pathology meetings. Prof. Deshpande serves on the editorial boards of the Archives of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, and Diagnostic Histopathology, and is Editor in Chief of the Journal of Clinical Pathology.

His areas of interest are Lung Cancer Clinical Trials, Lung Imaging and Pathological Correlation and Mesothelioma. Dr Dick serves as an honorary clinical lecturer for University of Glasgow with numerous publications focused on lung pathology.

He has multiple peer reviewed publications and is based in Toronto, Canada.

With over 100 publications, Mona El-Bahrawy's work focuses on uncovering diagnostic biomarkers and potential treatments for gynaecological tumours. Recent discoveries from her lab include the identification of molecular subtypes of serous borderline ovarian tumours. She is determined to identify predictive biomarkers and therapeutic targets to address unmet clinical needs in the field. As a significant contributor to Imperial College London, her work continues to make considerable impacts on Gynaecologic pathology.

He serves as the Medical Director and Pathologist in Chief at MacKenzie Health, Toronto, Canada, one of the first laboratories to implement whole slide imaging for primary reporting. He was formerly Director of Computational Pathology at University Health Network (UHN). He is the Chair of the College of American Pathologists Digital Pathology committee and has authored numerous publication on guidelines for implementation, quality and practice of digital pathology for primary diagnostics. As such he is a leader and opinion shaper in this area. Additionally, Dr Evans has written numerous papers in GU pathology and is internationally renowned in this sub-speciality.

He holds a Medical Doctorate from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry, where he also completed his residency in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology, serving as Chief Resident from 2020 to 2021. With a rich academic background in Biomedical Engineering, Dr. Farhat earned his Ph.D. from the University of Rochester, focusing on the role of matrix turnover proteins in models of flexor tendon healing. As a Staff Pathologist at Ascension St. John Hospital in Detroit, MI, Dr. Farhat managed general sign-out responsibilities in a busy academic hospital-based practice, specializing in gastrointestinal specimens. He actively participated in teaching sessions with pathology residents and contributed significantly to case sign-out sessions.

In 2020, Dr. Gross became an assistant professor in the Department of Pathology at Johns Hopkins (2020) where he brings expertise in bone and soft tissue and surgical pathology.

Within his department he is the subspecialist lead for Gastrointestinal Pathology and Cytopathology, he also practices in the fields of Pulmonary Pathology, Malignancy of Unknown Origin and Neuroendocrine Tumour Pathology. Dr Khurram’s main interests is the application of Artificial Intelligence and Deep Learning to Pathology with numerous recent publications. At present, Dr Khurram is involved in a number of national and international collaborative projects exploring ‘novel digital biomarkers’ in cancers and pre-cancers.

Currently positioned at the prestigious Queen Elizabeth University Hospital (QEUH) in Glasgow, he specializes in Gastrointestinal Pathology, particularly luminal, pancreatico-biliary, and medical liver pathology, handling a substantial portion of the hospital's extensive workload. Driven by his pivotal role as Clinical Lead from 2013 to 2016, overseeing the largest gastro-intestinal subspecialty team at the QUEH Pathology department, he contributed significantly to research, audits, and scientific reviews. Dr Qassid completed his histopathology training in London in 2016. Prior to his pathology training, He trained in medicine and surgery with South Wales health boards. Dr. Clara Limbaeck is a highly accomplished neuropathologist with a wealth of experience and expertise in her field. She received her Medical Degree in 1994 and went on to specialize in Histopathology, earning her Specialist Doctor in Histopathology qualification from the Medical Chamber of Slovenia in 2010. In 2016, she completed her PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Ljubljana, where her doctoral thesis focused on the role of nuclear calcium/calmodulin complex in long-term memory consolidation.

She is a staff pathologist at Hamilton Health Sciences Corporation, serving at Juravinski Hospital and Cancer Center, Hamilton General Hospital, and St. Joseph’s Health Care. Her role extends to academic leadership in the Department of Pathology and Molecular Medicine, reflecting her commitment to education and research.

She currently works as a Substantive Consultant at Queen Elizabeth University Hospital under NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde. Dr. Syed's particpates in a number of external quality assurance schemes, including the British Association of Gynaecological Pathology EQA, NHS BPS (Breast Pathology EQA), and cervical cytology NHS Scotland EQA. Throughout her career, she has been deeply committed to teaching undergraduates, postgraduates, and biomedical scientists. Her notable publications in leading medical journals have significantly advanced the understanding of gynaecological and breast pathology. Dr. Sheeba Syed's dedication to her field and academic contributions have earned her recognition as a respected expert in the medical community.

He received his undergraduate A.B. degree from Harvard College, M.D. from Yale University School of Medicine, Anatomic and Clinical Pathology training at Yale-New Haven Hospital and New England Deaconess Hospital, and Dermatopathology specialty training at Massachusetts General Hospital.

In addition to active responsibilities in diagnostic Dermatopathology and Surgical Pathology, Dr. Tahan has been an active participant in national and international Pathology educational courses, workshops, and seminars. He also oversees an active research program in human cutaneous oncology.

Dr Sami Titi is a renowned Consultant Histopathologist and Clinical Director for Cellular Pathology at the Northern Care Alliance (NCA), based in Manchester, UK. With over 19 years of experience, Dr Titi is an expert in the field of histopathology, specializing in breast and uropathology. He is currently leading a team of 30 pathologists at the NCA, who are providing a comprehensive Cellular Pathology service to the trusts they serve. Dr Titi acts as a lead pathologist for breast multidisciplinary teams. In addition to his clinical responsibilities, Dr Titi has been involved in several research projects, including his PhD research on HER-2 gene amplification and protein p185 overexpression in invasive breast cancer.

He has contributed to a vast range of research papers, focusing on various aspects of oncology, pathology, parasitic diseases, and transgender health. His work includes case reports, analyses of diagnostic methods, and exploration of specific pathological conditions. Some of his most notable works include his research on the Human Epidermal growth factor Receptor 2 (HER2) test, primary fibrosarcoma of the thyroid gland, and a variety of case reports detailing rare pathological conditions.

In addition to his numerous publications, Dr. Titi has made significant contributions to the Polish National Colorectal Screening Program. His work was acknowledged in the original publication by Jaroslaw Regula and colleagues titled "Colonoscopy in Colorectal-Cancer Screening for Detection of Advanced Neoplasia" published in The New England Journal of Medicine in 2006. This research has played a crucial role in enhancing the effectiveness of colorectal cancer screening in Poland.

Dr. Titi's contributions to text correction, a rare case of intestinal schistosomiasis, and microphotography of HER2 Fluorescence In Situ Hybridization (FISH) & Immunohistochemistry (IHC) were also acknowledged in a Polish pathology book titled "Patologia znaczy słowo o chorobie" by J. Stachura and W. Domagała, published in 2005.

Dr Titi is a Fellow of The Royal College of Pathologists, a Fellow of the Polish Society of Pathology, and has completed several national and international courses, including many on medical leadership, which have helped him to continue delivering high-quality, consultant-led services. He has also organized and chaired several regional conferences on breast pathology and has been a clinical governance lead for cellular pathology.

Throughout his career, Dr. Titi has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to advancing the fields of pathology and oncology, with his work having significant impacts on both research and clinical practice.

His areas of interest include; Gastric and colonic cancers. Dr Vajpeyi has completed his Postgraduate Training at the University of Toronto. He has numerous publications in peer-reviewed literature.

He has over 500 peer-reviewed publications and a H-score of 111. Dr Van der Kwast is a past president of the international society of pathologists with interest in urological pathology.

Her areas of interest include; familial gastrointestinal cancers, Neuroendocrine neoplasms, anal pathology. Dr. Vyas has numerous publications in peer-reviewed literature.

His areas of interest include; Cervical screening; Vulval disorders; Obstetric pathology; Medical Education. Dr Williams has numerous recent publications and has an interest in the application of Artificial Intelligence and Deep Learning to Pathology. 

She has extensive diagnostic and research experience in Gynaecological Cancers, with a particular interest in ovarian and endometrial cancers.

She is a member of a number of related professional bodies, including the BAGP, ISGyP and USCAP. During her career she has published and presented in the fields of Gynaecological Pathology and cytopathology nationally and internationally. She has well established links and several ongoing collaborations with colleagues in the Ukrainian medical education post-graduate centre in Kyiv and is currently the Royal College of Pathologists Advisor for Ukraine.

Dr Zander’s publications include 82 refereed publications in scientific and medical journals, 19 book chapters, editor/co-editor of 4 published books and an additional book in preparation [Color Atlas and Text of Pulmonary Pathology, Molecular Pathology of Lung Diseases, Pulmonary Pathology (first and second editions published, third edition in preparation)].
